“eThekwini is  ready for business this festive” – City Mayor

The City of eThekwini, expects a staggering 1.4 million visitors over this years festive season. The city launched it’s exciting Durban Tourism Summer Campaign on Wednesday, 11 September at the Coastal Lounge Resort in Umgababa. Under the theme, ‘Endless waves of tranquility’.

Through its roadshows, the city, seeks to position eThekwini as the destination of choice during the festive. It has partnered with local businesses especially within the tourism, hospitality and entertainment sector. With the aim of drawing foot traffic into the eThekwini during the festive in order to boost the province of KwaZulu-Natal’s economy.

To amplify the visitors experience during this period, the city of eThekwini has injected billions of rands in improving the cities infrastructure. A heightened police visibility, fully operational street lights and the fixing of sewerage pipes to ensure cleanliness and sanitization. Speaking at the campaigns launch, city Mayor, Counsellor Cyril Xaba said that “We want to demonstrate that Durban is ready for business and to deliver a safe and memorable festive season.” He further added that, the city encourages communities to help local businesses to thrive by supporting them.
