To honour their immense contribution in their various genres. The artists were all contacted a year ago, as you know you cannot put up a star without the permission of that particular artist. It is unfortunate that Connie passed on, on the eve of such an event. So she’s not just getting a star because she’s gone, the selection of the artists to be honoured had long been compiled – this is not an opportunistic honouring”.
