Neither do you observe a mourning period. However, you do need to be cleansed by your own family, to avoid soul ties. The reason why you are not cleansed by their family is because there was no ceremony to bind you or introduce your ancestors. You being cleansed by their family, signifies that you were acknowledged by their ancestors and this can cause stagnation in your life.<\/p><p>If your spouse passes on, as a woman, you need to observe a mourning period of one year. After which, you will be cleansed by your spouse\u2019s family. You would then proceed to get a cleansing from your family.<\/p><p>If you are a man, and your wife passes on. You need to observe six months mourning period.
