Idlozi Magazine, a publication that exists to promote cultural pride, awareness on African Spirituality and encouraging the spirit of Ubuntu. With the aim of empowering young girls to use their gifts and talents as a means of self-development has established its new segment, ‘Ubuhle Bezwe.
Ubuhle Bezwe, is a platform that allows girls to showcase their skills and talents to help them get the recognition they need to enter their respectful fields. The publication promotes young girls in the field of Arts and Culture as this helps young people to express themselves. Their needs, likes and dislikes. The publication promotes this as it is an exciting way for young girls to develop, and it keeps them clear from peer pressure that leads to rebelliousness, teenage pregnancies and alcohol consumption.
Through the, ‘Ubuhle Bezwe’ magazine segment, young girls don’t only get to showcase themselves, however this platform encourages many other youth to reach out to the publication to promote their work, skills and talents.
Idlozi Magazine is proud to announce that through the amazing response towards its new segment that has taken off successfully. It will be holding a Miss Ubuhle Bezwe 2024 pageant for girls between 12 and 21 years of age across South Africa. The pageant looks to give girls a platform to showcase their talents while promoting their heritage.

important to me, and I have made it a personal mandate that I contribute to the dreams of young girls and women all over South Africa.” “I am also very proud to announce that after careful consideration, the
publication has selected Nokukhanya Zuma of from Durban as the face of the pageant. She optimizes humble-beauty and innocence” added Editor of Idlozi Magazine. Nokukhanya Zuma or popularly known as Khanya Zuma is a 19-year-old maiden from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, she is known for her passion of interpreting popular cultural IsiZulu dance songs into acapella.
Entries for Miss Ubuhle Bezwe open on 1 December 2023. To enter, girls need to record a 30 second video of themselves and post it on TikTok. Tag @idlozi_magazine on TikTok and it is very important that they use the hashtags #idlozimagazine #idlozimagazinetalent #missubuhlebezwe2024. Entries close on 24 December 2023. The top 10 to participate in the pageant will be announced at the beginning of January 2024.

For showing the spirit of Ubuntu (2nd Runner-up): an Easy Waves hair hamper and a professional photoshoot.
For showing cultural pride and knowledge of their heritage (1st Runner-up): an Easy Waves hair hamper and a professional photoshoot.
Miss Ubuhle Bezwe 2024 (over-all winner): an Easy Waves hair hamper, a professional portfolio and a grocery voucher. She will also be the ambassador of Idlozi Magazines, Ubuhle Bezwe segment for 2024.
The pageants main sponsor is Easy Waves who have generously sponsored the top 3’s hair hampers.

The digital publication was established in the year 2020. It boasts an online presence of 11,300 followers on Instagram and just below 6000 on Facebook. The publication is also on TikTok and Twitter. The Publishing Editor is Gugulethu Mhlongo (34) who is from Umgababa, KwaZulu-Natal. However, residing in Johannesburg as of November 2022. To date, the publication has produced 21 exciting editions, each with a unique theme. The readership has grown and is showing so much support due to the publications uniqueness and being able to demystify African Spirituality for many.
