For our cover shoot under the theme, “happy ever after”. The aim of the photoshoot and interview was to celebrate young wives #ukotioluncane. Who better to grace our cover than these two absolutely stunning, humble ‘makotis’. They were both dressed in their best ‘amahiya’, glamorous tops, and complete with inkehli neatly woven into their hair.

Inkehle, is a sign that a woman is married She wears it to cover her hair and as a sign of respect to the family she is married into. Others say,i hairstyle yasezulwini” translated to the heavens hairstyle. As per norm, they were both reserved and respectable as according to the Nazareth Baptish Church. A married woman should carry herself with grace. Although they were also on the shy side, our production team managed to capture their individual personalities.

Sphesihle, has a very reserved personality. She is calm and possesses a very innocent aura. She is a popular maskandi artist, and in fact, she is currently promoting a new song she features on along Khuzani Mpungose, ‘Imbongolo’. Which is currently making waves across all mainstream TV and Radio Stations as well as being used by fans on all Social Media platforms on reels and videos.

Londeka, on the other hand is also quite humble and easy-going. She loves the camera and its little wonder as she possesses a bubbly personality, though with some reservation. They both had lovely advice for our young readers who are yet to get married.

Sphesihle said that, “to all the young girls, l’ve learned the importance of prayer as a married woman. No situation surpasses prayer. I was raised under the Nazareth Baptist Church, where we were taught to place all our troubles on the, Prophet Shembe. As he is our only hope in whatever we are faced with in life.”

Londeka added saying, “it is importation to remain respectful as a wife. To respect your husband, his family and to acknowledge his Ancestors. If you are told that all wives who marry into the family need to cover their heads and shoulders as a sign of respect. Then you need to do so. If your husbands family observes the 6pm prayer, “lala nathi”, then you need to observe the prayer with your marital family. Always be respectful, you will never go wrong.”
